The Omo Valley
Our tours to the Omo Valley comprise of two regions - the Lower Omo Valley (the more frequented tourist section) and the much more remote Upper Omo Valley (less-frequented off-the-beaten-track section).
Lower Omo Valley
Our tours to the Lower Omo Valley allow visitors to visit the Dorze, Konso, Tsemai, Arbore, Hamer, Kara, Dassanatch, Nyangatom (aka Bume), Mursi, Bena, Ari and Borena tribes. Also included are 2-3 weekly tribal markets, tribal ceremonies like the Hamer tribe's Bull-jumping ceremony as well as boat trips on Chamo/Awassa lakes. These tours range from a minimum of 6 days to a maximum of 13 days.
Upper Omo Valley
Our tours to the Upper Omo valley allow visitors to visit the Suri tribal area (Chai clan around Kibish, Tirma clan around Tulgit, Zilmamo clan around Jeba), Dizi tribe around Tum, Menit tribe in the surrounding hills of Tum and further drive into Mui National Park and visit to the Nyangatom tribe at Kangaten and in the surrounding lowlands of Mui National Park. These tours range from a minimum of 6 days to a maximum of 11 days.
Depending on the weather, the above Lower/Upper Omo Valley tours can be combined with tour duration of 11 - 17 days.
